This is something I have been working on lately and I have been wanting to do this for years and I finally think I have enough information under my belt to give it a try. This is still a work in progress as the ear, neck, hand and back of the head are not finished. It's still in it's block in stage and more work  on the jaw where shadows elude me......but I'm getting it. oil on claessens, baltic birch 11x14

Well second place and that is awesome as it's a HUGE award......ALTHOUGH they didn't even call me to tell me and I missed the reception, which I wanted to go to but I figured if I didn't get a phone call (I didn't) I would not make the 6 hour drive. Made me mad and happy at the same time....

Welcome 2012! Glad that's over. I made a promise to myself and here is the first one today. My goals are set out and the first is to learn to paint trees.....I hope I can fulfill my promise.
